After a busy 2016, I have really enjoyed spending the first few weeks of 2017 away with just my horses at my grand-parents farm where I grew up riding. Bell Point farm is one of the southern-most farms in mainland Australia, and with a view over the water with Wilson Promontory in the background, it is simply stunning. My grand-parents have lived here, and farmed sheep and cattle for over 60 years. I have many great memories from when I was hooning around the property at the age of 9 on my first pony, ‘Little Sally’, jumping everything I could find and helping my grandfather shift the stock.
It is great to be back, and I have enjoyed lots of riding out on the property, beach rides and playing with my young horses growing up here. Having ridden full time and flat out all year, it has been a pleasant change to just have 4-5 horses to work each day, and being able to spend the rest of the time at the beach and with my family. We have been doing all sorts of water sports, windsurfing, waterskiing and scurfing behind the boat, all of which has been a heap of fun.
This is what we got up at the farm….
